Robert P. Sheils, III, is lawyer with over 15 years of legal experience representing individuals, small businesses and corporations throughout Pennsylvania. Attorney Sheils has represented clients in a variety of business law, litigation, bankruptcy, real estate, zoning, municipal and elder law matters.         Bob is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Law and Fairfield University. He has served as an Attorney for the Lackawanna County Tax Claim Bureau, as a Conflict Counsel for the Lackawanna County Solicitor’s Office, as an Assistant Public Defender for the Wyoming County Public Defender’s Office, as a Judicial Law Clerk for the Court of Common Pleas of Monroe County, as a Court-Appointed Arbitrator for Lackawanna, Wyoming/Sullivan and Monroe Counties and as Solicitor for Lemon Township. 

           Bob is admitted to practice law in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, State of Florida and State of New Jersey and in the U.S. District Courts for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, Eastern District of Pennsylvania, Western District of Pennsylvania, Middle District of Florida and District of New Jersey. Bob is a member of the Lackawanna County Bar Association, Wyoming-Sullivan County Bar Association (Treasurer), Monroe County Bar Association, Pennsylvania Bar Association, the Florida Bar, and Middle District Bankruptcy Bar Association. 

           Active in the community, Bob is a Board Member of the Abington Community Library and The Cemetery Association of Dunmore. He is a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #6611 and a volunteer for numerous community and youth sports activities. He is a former Chairman of the Board of Directors for the American Red Cross, Scranton Chapter, and a former Board Member of Johnson College, the Boys and Girls Club of Scranton and the Abington Heights Student Aid Fund. 

 

          Bob is married to Mary (Densevich) Sheils and is the father of four children. He resides with his family in Clarks Summit.          

          Mr. Shiels has been practicing law for 49 years in New York and Pennsylvania in both private practice and for various financial institutions. He has been Vice President and counsel at the Bank of New York and Senior Vice President of the then Northeastern Bank of Pennsylvania, now PNC Bank. After he left PNC, he returned to private practice and began his own law firm in 1993. Mr. Sheils has been a Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Trustee since 1993.
